November 23, 2016: First Circuit Suit Filed To Compel EPA To Act On Permits To Protect Rivers From Power Plant Pollution

On behalf of Sierra Club, the Firm has filed a Mandamus Petition with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. For decades, two coal-fired power plants in New Hampshire have been operating under expired EPA permits, allowing the Plants to rely on outdated technologies that pollute nearby waterbodies. The Petition asks the Court to Order EPA to finally issue new permits that will address these concerns. The Court has Ordered EPA to respond next month.
